Why I created The Coven
I'm not a mystic.
I've never had a profound spiritual experience, such as hearing a voice speaking to me during meditation (although I did see a ghost and a UFO when I was a kid).
Sometimes, thoughts appear in my mind that seem to come from a source beyond the mind. But I think we all have access to those when we tune in and listen. You’ve probably had similar experiences, too.
Although I’ve been on a path of spiritual seeking for a few years now, I have never considered myself a spiritual teacher or leader.
I'm just an ordinary person trying to improve myself and my life through spiritual practices.
Doing the best I can while also dealing with the challenges of 21st-century life.
Like you, I’m busy. I single-handedly run my full-time freelance business.
I don't have time for long, drawn-out, or complicated rituals. I also don’t identify as Pagan, and some of the traditional Pagan rituals are a bit too “out there” for my personal tastes.
I prefer quick and simple rituals that infuse meaning and magick into the mundane and everyday.
Life is a sacred dance. My spiritual practice is the drumbeat to which I move.
It connects me to the cycles of nature, my body, and the world around me while fitting into my busy schedule.
I also don't like dogma or rigid religious norms and rules. I like to explore spirituality in an undogmatic and open-minded way.
And although Paganism is technically a religion, it is a non-dogmatic one.
It encourages each follower of the path to create a practice that speaks to them. So, although I don’t like to label myself Pagan, this approach to spirituality speaks to me in a big way.
And I know that you’re here because you’re like me.
You know there’s more to reality than what we perceive with our five senses — you may even have had your own mystical experiences to confirm it.
You want to connect more deeply with yourself and those around you.
You want to be the best version of yourself you can be.
But you’re also busy as hell. You have a career ladder to climb, a business to run, kids to raise, cats to serve (cat mamas, you know what I’m talking about!).
You feel called to incorporate spirituality into everyday life in a way that fits with your schedule, not the other way round.
You want a spiritual practice that you can adapt however you want and tweak so it works perfectly for your unique needs.
Maybe you’ve done some spiritual pick n mix but never landed on a path that felt right for you.
You would love to learn more about the Craft but feel overwhelmed and confused by the vast and often contradictory information out there.
And that’s why I created The Coven — to deliver practical, accessible spiritual advice and 5-minute rituals for the busy, 21-century Witch.
This blog is as much for me as it is for you. As I uncover information and deepen my practice, I’ll be sharing my journey with you so you can do the same.
I also want to create a community of empowered women who take responsibility for their own wellbeing and activate the magick that we all carry inside.
Together, we will create a ripple effect that spreads to our families, communities, and beyond.
