Hey Witches,
First of all, welcome to all the new subscribers — it’s great to have you in our small (but growing) Witchy community.
How is everyone doing out there?
The Eclipse portal and Scorpio season have been putting us all through the wringer. Eclipses tend to put our evolution on fast-forward, catapulting us into where we need to be. Later, we can look back and see the blessings the Eclipse bestowed on us, but the speed at which events move can be disorienting and even painful at the time.
Rather than trying to hold onto whatever needs to die within us or end in our lives, this process can be less painful if we release resistance and let it flow, trusting that whatever is not meant for us is leaving space for what is meant to come in.
What lessons did you learn in Scorpio season? What are you carrying forward on the journey, and what are you leaving behind?
The Sagittarius New Moon brings a feeling of renewal and a chance to write a new story on a blank page. Let’s see what the energy might have in store for us.
Sagittarius New Moon energy update
Get ready to expand your horizons in a whole new way. Expansive Sagittarius rules long-distance travel, adventure, and higher learning. This Sagittarius New Moon seems to have a potent energy for new beginnings and growth in all its forms — physical, emotional, and spiritual. Under the Sagittarius New Moon, you may feel called to get out of your comfort zone and seek new experiences and growth.
Spiritual expansion seems to be particularly potent at this New Moon, with Jupiter and Neptune both in Pisces, activating our soul contracts and spiritual awareness. Jupiter — the planetary ruler of Sagittarius — will be stationing direct on the same day as the New Moon, which will amplify the energy of expansion and renewal.
The Eclipse portal purged many of the deep, dark shadows that we’d been carrying around for so long. The Sag New Moon reminds us that the path of healing and growth doesn’t always have to be heavy and dense. Once we shed all that weighs us down, it’s time to plant seeds and step into a new reality and a new way of being.
With the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus all in Sagittarius, fiery Sag energy is strong at this New Moon. The Sagittarius archetype is the Archer, who aims his bow and lets his arrow fly. Once the arrow is set in motion, there’s no stopping it — so he must carefully set his intention before shooting to ensure it lands where it’s meant to.
As we move from Scorpio season into Sagittarius season, we are armed with new wisdom. During Scorpio season, we tend to take a deep dive into our inner worlds, examine our shadow sides, and question our choices and motivations.
Scorpio is the sign of death, which is a necessary step in the cycle of life. Death clears the way for new life to come through. As Sagittarius season gets underway, you may feel refreshed and renewed. It’s time to put all you’ve learned into action so you can shoot your arrows from a place of greater alignment with your highest truth and purpose.
The Eclipse portal brought a lot of harsh realities to light for many of us. Although you may not see the effects materialising in your life immediately, the Eclipse energies can be felt for up to six months after the event.
Therefore, anything that was set in motion during the Eclipse portal will continue to unfold over the coming months, continuing to usher in changes in our lives. You may look back in six months from now and be amazed at what has shifted.
Sagittarius New Moon ritual — connecting with your higher self
Sagittarius, the Archer, calls us to expand beyond our current limitations and comfort zones to embrace new adventures, growth, and levels of being.
However, this can feel a little scary, and fear can cloud our judgement or prevent us from taking action.
When this happens, it can either leave us stuck in analysis paralysis or guide us towards actions that are not aligned with our highest truth or purpose.
This simple ritual will help you connect to your higher self for guidance. You will be able to tap into this connection whenever fear or doubt arise so that you can move forward with confidence and in alignment with your truth.
You will need:
A white candle or tealight
A pen and journal or piece of paper
Cleanse your space using any preferred method. You may want to use a grounding scent such as sandalwood or cedar to help you enter into a meditative state.
Light your candle, and as you do, ask your higher self to connect with you. Spend five to ten minutes in silent meditation, noticing any physical sensations that arise. Pay attention to these — the body is wise, and most of the time, we ignore it. Tuning into the physical part of your being is a powerful way to connect with your inner truth.
When you feel ready, bring to mind a question or situation in your life around which you need guidance. Formulate a specific question in your mind, or simply visualise the person or situation.
Ask your higher self to connect with you and provide guidance around this situation. Then, open your eyes and start writing in your journal or on the piece of paper.
Try not to think too much about this — just keep your hand moving and let the writing flow. This is called free writing and is a great way to tap into your subconscious mind.
Stop when you feel ready and repeat this ritual as often as you feel called to. The more often you do it, the easier you will find it to connect with your higher self and inner compass.

It’s only available on the Substack app for iOS right now but will soon be rolled out for Android, too. Jump in and say hi if you feel the call. I can’t wait to chat with you!
