On April 12th, the Libra Full Moon arrives with a question. Not the usual “what do you want to manifest?” or “what are you ready to release?”—but something a little more blunt:
What in your life deserves a kiss? What’s ready for a lifelong commitment? And what’s begging to be let go, once and for all?
Astrologers are calling this April a month of cosmic intensity, bringing both chaos and clarity. In the weeks leading up to this lunation, I’ve felt like a pot of water about to boil over—maybe you have, too?
For me, even writing this post has been a cosmic lesson in moving with the energy of this Moon—I wanted to come in with a full download of insights, metaphors, magic…but what I found was fog.
The reality is, I’m deep in launch mode right now, spending my days building funnels and landing pages and nurture sequences for my upcoming journaling programme, Grief and the Body, and I may be spinning a few too many plates at once.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re living on the edge—emotionally, mentally, collectively—you’re not alone. It’s like something old is breaking down, and something new is asking to be born…but only if we’re brave enough to name what’s not working anymore and sit with the discomfort of not knowing what comes next.
So consider this your cosmic permission slip to pause, reflect, and get radically honest with yourself about what’s no longer in alignment, what you want to devote yourself to, and where you can let go.
This week’s edition of The Muse is here to help you do just that—so let’s take a look at the cosmic weather according to some of my favourite astrologers.
Libra full moon cosmic forecast
Pam Gregory
According to Pam, there’s a wave of momentum building right now, and with all planets direct—including Mercury just days before the Full Moon and Venus just after—we’re entering a rare window of clarity and momentum. Things are still intense, but they’re finally moving. Neptune’s shift into Aries at the end of March begins to burn off some of the Piscean fog we’ve been wading through, helping us see what’s real, what’s illusion, and what’s ready to begin.
Mars—planet of war and aggression—in Cancer is still retrograde and out of bounds, stirring up a mix of reactivity and protectiveness. But the Mars–Uranus and Venus–Uranus sextiles taking place this month open the door to creative breakthroughs, surprise ideas, new opportunities, and flashes of insight—especially if we give ourselves space to receive them. Meanwhile, a Jupiter–Sun sextile brings a much-needed boost, reminding us that expansion is possible, even in these trying times.
The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon—which takes place at 23 degrees of Libra—is “a butterfly with a third wing on its left side”, which symbolises “an unusual level of spiritual awakening can be achieved by serious seekers, who then become the seeds of a general evolutionary step”, according to James Burgess.
Tanaaz (Forever Conscious)
This Libra Full Moon brings a call for balance—but not the polished, performative kind. With Chiron cazimi (conjunct the Sun) in Aries, it’s about facing the raw truth of what’s been throwing us off-centre. Old wounds may surface, not to shame us, but to be seen with fresh clarity and compassion.
According to Tanaaz, this Full Moon arrives during the eclipse portal, and is linked to the March 29 Aries eclipse—whatever came up for you then may be coming to a point of clarity or closure, helping you leave behind what you no longer need.
This isn’t a gentle Full Moon, but it is a wise one. It invites us to sit with what’s real, to stop trying to hold it all together, and instead, to get curious about what balance actually means right now. It may not look symmetrical—and it’s not supposed to.
Moon Omens
For the Moon Omens team, this Libra Full Moon is a mirror moment—one that reflects both our personal relationships and our collective imbalances. With the Moon in Libra (“we”) opposing Chiron in Aries (“I”), themes of relationship and identity take centre stage, revealing “unhealed wounds, dysfunctional patterns, and deep truths about ourselves and our relationships”.
There’s tension in the chart—Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Aquarius form a T-square with the Full Moon, which could bring emotional intensity, power dynamics, or the need to let go of old coping mechanisms. But rather than reacting, we’re invited to respond with more self-awareness.
Venus, Libra’s ruler, stations direct in Pisces just after the Full Moon, wrapping up a reflective period in love, values, and creativity. It’s a soft but significant shift: a signal to move forward with what your heart truly wants—not what looks good on paper.
This Full Moon reminds us: balance doesn’t always mean everything in equal parts. Sometimes it means knowing what to put down so we can carry what really matters.
Marina (Darkstar Astrology)
Marina describes this Full Moon as a moment of “rest and retribution.” It’s a time when unfinished business rises to the surface—not to punish us, but to be witnessed and resolved. There’s a sense of karmic closure in the air, especially around themes of justice, balance, and power dynamics (very Libra).
She notes that while this Moon is connected to Spica, a star of success and harvest, it also carries a feeling of being unrooted or exiled—like we’re caught between chapters, not quite where we were, not yet where we’re going. That liminal space can be both unsettling and transformative.
If the tension feels high, Marina suggests grounding practices (she recommends working with Rhodonite, a stone for emotional balance), and reminds us this lunation has the power to bring relief—but only if we’re willing to confront what’s been left unsaid or undone.
writing prompts for the Libra full moon
These prompts are invitations—use them as journaling springboards, creative writing sparks, or portals into deeper reflection. There’s no “right” way to engage—let your imagination guide you.
🪞 The mirror room: Imagine stepping into a mirrored room where every wall reflects a different version of you—past, present, future, idealised, rejected, hidden. One version steps forward and wants to talk. Who is it, and what do they say?
⚖️ Tipping the scales: Write a scene where your inner world is personified as a set of ancient scales. On one side: what you’ve been carrying that’s no longer yours to hold. On the other: what you long for but haven’t allowed yourself to receive. What shifts when you start rearranging the weight?
🔗 Unfinished business: A knock at the door. It’s someone—or something—you thought you’d left behind, returning with a message. What do they need to say? What needs to be completed, released, or rewritten before they can leave again?
🌪️ In the eye of the storm: Picture yourself at the centre of a swirling storm made of deadlines, messages, global news, your own expectations. In the tranquil eye of the storm, there’s an object. Pick it up. What is it, and what wisdom does it hold?
🌀 Sacred imbalance: Imagine balance not as stillness, but as movement—like a dancer improvising across a stage. What does your own version of graceful imbalance look like? What’s beautiful, strange, or liberating about it?
If one of these prompts speaks to you, I’d love to hear what it brings up.

Glad I'm not the only one! Let's hope you're right!
I'm totally feeling this boiling pot of water energy right now and it's exhausting.
The butterfly evolution imagery is amazing, given that butterflies are the epitome of transformation. Fingers crossed we emerge renewed on the other side of this. 🍀
