Hey Witches,
How are you all feeling after the Scorpio lunar eclipse? Eclipses affect the area of life where they fall within your birth chart. We may still be feeling the effects of this eclipse up to six months from now, so check where Scorpio falls in your chart to see how it could affect you.
For me, this one was a real doozy, as my Scorpio is in the Fourth House, which represents home and family. As you may remember, I was visiting my family during the eclipse, and without wanting to name and shame, let’s just say some deep, dark shit from the past came to light in a not-so-pleasant way.
But from the ashes, we rise, and the trauma of the incident has spurred me into action to create something I’ve been hatching for a while — an in-person grief moon circle that I’ll be co-launching with my wonderful friend Eryn on this Gemini New Moon.
Gemini New Moon energy update
There’s a feeling of relief around this New Moon. We were squeezed and compressed to within an inch of our lives during the eclipse portal — but from extreme pressure, diamonds are formed.
This New Moon feels expansive and hopeful. We’re ready to emerge from the cocoon, like a butterfly. The time is ripe for new creative projects, especially collaborative ones. Gemini is represented by the twins and rules our choices. This New Moon is inviting you to choose your direction, to step onto your path and claim your destiny.
Gemini also rules our thoughts and mental chatter. This New Moon asks us to become aware of our thoughts and reminds us that they shape our reality. There’ll be no room for old limiting or negative beliefs where we’re going, so it’s time to leave them behind.
The energy of new beginnings that comes with every New Moon is amplified this time by the presence of Jupiter — the planet of growth — and Mars — the planet of action — in Aries.
As is the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is all about fresh starts and taking action. Last month, our monthly theme was authenticity. This month, it’s growth and expansion. Authenticity is knowing who you truly are, while growth and expansion come by boldly embodying that truth and walking your talk.
Card of the week
Every week, I pull a card to provide guidance for subscribers of The Coven.
This week, I’m using my Colman-Smith Tarot deck and the card I’ve pulled out for you is the Three of Cups.
This feels like the perfect card for the Gemini New Moon as it’s all about community and connection and has an expansive, celebratory energy.
The Three of Cups is very much about celebration. At this almost-halfway point of the year, it invites you to look back on your achievements so far and celebrate how far you’ve come.
The message feels very much like summer is here, so now is the time to enjoy it! We can get so caught up in the day-to-day that we forget to make plans to enjoy ourselves. Before we know it, summer will be over and we’ll be looking back wondering where it went.
It’s time to let your hair down and remember what lights you up, what makes you feel expansive.
This card also brings through the message that now is a good time for creative collaborations — reinforcing the Jupiter and Mars influence on the Gemini New Moon energy.
But even as we expand and grow, we must stay rooted in gratitude for the many blessings we already have.
