Capricorn Full Super Moon energy update
If you’ve been waiting for a cosmic green light to start a new chapter in your life, this Cap Full Super Moon is it.
Hey Witches,
How are you feeling after that ultra-emotional Cancer New Moon? I had COVID, my period, and some family stuff to deal with and couldn’t stop crying all week — and I’m still feeling pretty wobbly now.
You might remember in the Cancer New Moon update I talked about Lilith — the dark, wild, untamed, rebellious, belligerent feminine, the one who refuses to bow to patriarchy. We certainly saw Lilith energy rising on a global level as the world reacted to the Roe vs. Wade decision in the US.
Perhaps you’re noticing Lilith rising in yourself, too. Maybe you’re setting healthy boundaries or no longer tolerating toxic people in your life. These are the lessons of Lilith and a sign of inner feminine healing and integration.
On the 13th/14th of July, the Moon will reach its closest point to the Earth this year, illuminating the sky with a Full Super Moon in Capricorn. As the Moon travels closer to this peak point, let’s take a look at what the upcoming energy has in store for us.
Capricorn Full Super Moon energy update
This Full Moon in earthy Capricorn is all about structure, stability, and going after your goals. Capricorn is the hardest worker in the zodiac and will stop at nothing to make its dreams reality. Because this is a Super Moon, its effects will be extra powerful and will help us break free from anything holding us back from creating the life of our dreams. It will illuminate the next steps of our journey and the structures we will need to support us.
The Capricorn Super Moon arrives in the middle of an astrologically intense month that will culminate with a rare triple conjunction between Uranus, Mars, and the North Node in Taurus on the 31st. Many astrologers are predicting shocks, catastrophes, and upheaval in food supply chains and the environment.
As Witches, there’s a lot we can do to support the Earth, starting with practical, real-world action, such as:
Organising a local beach or nature clean-up
Donating to a local environmental organisation
Planting bee-friendly flowers
Growing your own organic herbs and vegetables
Buying produce from local organic farmers
Reusing your shopping bags
Recycling
But we can also use our spiritual practice to help the Earth. Here are a few ideas for incorporating Earth love into your magickal practices:
Cast protection spells for her or for groups working to protect her.
Give thanks every day for her abundance.
Make offerings as a sign of your gratitude.
Pray over/bless the land. Tell the land you love it.
Meditate on your heart and send love and healing light from your heart to the Earth.
If you’ve been waiting for a cosmic green light to start a new chapter in your life, this Cap Full Super Moon is it. These are turbulent times on Earth, and it can be easy to despair if we spend too much time looking at the chaos going on around us. We’re witnessing thousands of years of ancestral wounds being brought to the surface for healing and transmutation. We don’t need them where we’re going. Although it might seem hard to believe, they are opening the door to the next stage of human evolution. As Rumi said, “the wound is where the light enters you.”
So we have to focus on what we love and what we want to create — and then create with love. This doesn’t have to mean big, revolutionary acts. Sometimes, the small actions we take every day can cause the biggest waves. Be the change you wish to see. Follow that “crazy dream”. Know that your visions are divinely inspired and that you will be supported.
This Moon comes hot on the heels of the Sirius portal that opened from the 3rd-6th July, when the Sun aligns with Sirius. Sirius is said to be our spiritual sun and was revered by ancient cultures. Many believe it to be home to a race of advanced aliens. When the Sun aligns with Sirius each year, it’s a chance to upgrade our spiritual and psychic abilities. You may have received insights, downloads, or inspiration during this portal. The Capricorn Moon will help you set out the steps you need to take to make those visions a reality.
Card of the week
Every other week, I pull a card to provide guidance for subscribers of The Coven.
This week I’m using my classic Colman-Smith Tarot deck and the card I’ve pulled for you is The Hierophant reversed.
The Hierophant represents religion, tradition, patriarchal structures, and masculine power, so in its reversed position, it ties in with the theme of Lilith and feminine subversion.
This card is speaking to the awakening of consciousness that’s taking place at a global level, and that may be happening to you and those you know, too. The extreme times through which we’re living are pushing us into a collective dark night of the soul and out the other side into higher levels of consciousness. The old, oppressive structures can’t come with us. They have to go.
The Hierophant reversed is reminding you that the keys to the universe are inside of you. You are more powerful than you can possibly imagine — this is an invitation to awaken to that power, to look inside yourself and discover what you’re truly capable of. You’re so much more than you think you are.
Like Capricorn, the Hierophant is about structure. This card is encouraging you to think outside the box and create the structures that work for you, not ones that conform with old social expectations.
You are letting go of your old conditioning, shedding layers of your consciousness that you never even knew existed. Underneath the layers lies your own innate truth. This is part of the awakening process. Allow your mind to be stripped bare and build a new reality from a place of alignment and integrity.
Capricorn Super Moon ritual suggestions
Ideas to help you harness the power of the Capricorn Full Super Moon
Organise a local beach or nature clean-up
Ritual to strengthen your intuition/psychic abilities
Write out your vision of your dream life. Place it out under the moonlight with your crystals then keep it on your altar.
Create short, medium, and long-term goals. Define the steps you’ll need to take to achieve each one and create a road map to get you there.
Write a list of subconscious beliefs that may be holding you back. Challenge each one and rewrite it as a new, positive belief. Use these new beliefs as affirmations.
Meditate daily to keep your vibration high.
Rest and replenish your mind, body, and soul.
Take action on something you’ve been putting off.
Journaling prompts
These prompts are designed to get you thinking. Answer as many or as few as you like and allow your mind to meander on the page.
In what ways do I suppress my divine feminine? How can I allow myself to express my feminine side more fully?
Make a list of ways you mentally oppress yourself and others (for example, judging the way you/they look, suppressing “negative” emotions, not setting firm enough boundaries, etc)
Look back on your goals for the year and take stock of your progress so far. Which projects have sprouted and bloomed, and which are no longer a priority? Decide what you’ll focus on for the second half of the year.
What does your soul want you to know? Use automatic writing to bring through messages from your higher self/guides.
Write about your support network. Who are you grateful for and why? If you don’t have the support you need, call in your soul tribe by writing about the qualities they possess.
What does home mean to you? Who, what, or where do you call home?
What is your soul calling you to do? What would you do if you knew you’d be fully supported?
That’s it from me for this week — let me know how you’ll be celebrating the Capricorn Full Super Moon in the comments.
And if you’re in Barcelona, the next Dark Moon Grief Circle will actually be on the Full Moon this month as we had to postpone it due to COVID. We’ll meet in the Parc de l’Estació del Nord on Wednesday the 13th at 19.30. If you’d like to join us, hit reply and let me know.
Sending love and blessings,
Victoria
