A humanitarian message for the Aquarius Blue Moon
Hey Witches,
Welcome to this year’s second Full Moon in Aquarius, which is also a rare Blue Moon. Although I love the idea of the Moon changing colour, that’s unfortunately not what happens. In fact, a Blue Moon is the third Full Moon to occur in a season with four full moons, and it only happens every couple of years — hence the phrase “once in a Blue Moon.”
Aquarian energy is a big theme this year. Not only does the Blue Moon serve up a double helping of Aquarian vibes, but Saturn moved into Aquarius in December 2020, heralding the long-awaited “Age of Aquarius.”
Aquarius is all about the collective, humanitarianism, innovation, and generally shaking things up. And under the light of this Blue Moon, I received a humanitarian message to share with you.

We are living through a moment of extreme polarisation around a deeply divisive topic (you know which one I mean). But no matter your feelings on the subject or which side of the debate you stand on, resist the temptation to dehumanise those whose choices or opinions are different from yours. This is happening on both sides, and it needs to stop.
There is not a single person on the planet who hasn’t been affected by the pandemic, whether by the virus itself, economic turmoil, mental health issues, domestic abuse during lockdowns, and so much more.
We are quite literally all in this together, and it’s more important than ever that we don’t lose our humanity. We must come together as a collective and support each other, not tear each other down for our choices.
If you come across someone who has a different opinion than yours, approach them with open curiosity. Engage in respectful debate without resorting to blame, shame, and false accusations. Don’t try to change their mind. Trust that person to make the right decision for their body.
The truth is that no one really knows the future. We’re all acting as best we can, based on the limited and unreliable information we have. We’re all making the decisions we believe to be best for ourselves, our families, and our communities.
Creating the future one day at a time
We may not know the future, but we are constantly creating it and therefore have the power to influence it. A message that my favourite energy intuitive, Lee Harris, has been sharing since the pandemic began is “focus on what you want to create.”
He says the chaos that’s manifesting in the world right now is the result of purging our collective consciousness, and it’s going to continue for a while. His advice is not to focus on it too much because the more mental energy we give it, the more chaos we manifest.
Instead, he recommends focusing on what you want to create in your little corner of reality. Creative energy is strong now, and we have huge potential for bringing new projects and ideas into existence by opening to our connection with the Divine. But we can’t connect to our creativity from fear energy — in fact, it blocks our channels and our ability to receive inspiration.
Moving out of fear
There’s a lot of fear energy in the world right now, and looking at it for too long will suck you into the fear trap. To move out of this energy, take a break from media and social media for a couple of days.
Turn off your phone and spend time connecting with nature. Ask Mother Earth to soothe your nervous system and relieve you of your fears. Lie on the grass or swim in a lake. Return to the womb of the Mother. Allow her to nurture you, to restore your trust in the order of nature. To reassure you that everything will be okay.

A spell for a peaceful mind
It’s impossible to tap into your Divine creativity if you’re plagued by fearful or obsessive thoughts.
Use this spell to find peace of mind that will allow creativity to flow through you more easily.
Materials:
1 pale blue candle*
½ teaspoon each of dried thyme, lemon balm, and lavender
1 small piece of black tourmaline
An 8cm x 8cm piece of pale blue fabric*
A 24cm piece of pale blue ribbon or thread*
*You can also use white or another colour that represents peace to you.
Light the candle and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths and visualise the racing thoughts in your mind gradually slowing down, stopping, then evaporating from your mind. Envision yourself in a state of mental peace and relaxation.
Place the fabric in front of the candle and sprinkle the herbs on top while saying something like:
Herbal mixture of tranquility
I conjure you to mesh and be
The force commanding wheels to slow
Within my head and drain the flow
Of worries with which I’m obsessed
And extraneous thoughts so I can rest
And bring your calming peace to me
As I will, so mote it be.
Place the tourmaline on top of the herbs and say:
Tourmaline, O blackest stone
Work the magic of the Crone
And with these herbs, I ask of you
To bring the calmness I pursue
Bring rest to mind and peace to core
Absorbing idle thoughts before
They take on life and can roam free
Do now what I ask of thee.
Gather the corners of the fabric and tie them together with the ribbon or thread. Place the pouch in front of the candle until it burns out, then hold the pouch to your forehead whenever you feel your thoughts starting to get out of control.
